The ACE Mentor Program Chicago

It’s spring time, and for Victor that means it’s the end of the season for the ACE Mentor Program. Victor joined the ACE (which stands for Architecture, Construction, and Engineering) Mentor Program back in 2007. The program connects high school students (mostly from Chicago Public Schools) with Architecture, Construction, and Engineering industry professionals, dividing the students into teams that include mentors from each industry profession.  Students gain overall knowledge, experience, and advice from their mentors that can apply to a future career.

“The ACE Mentor Program is exceptional for the amazing learning environment it fosters between mentors and students,” says Victor, who credits mentorship as a big part of his professional development.  Toward the end of the season, students decide which profession most interests them, and focus more directly on one of the three careers. In addition, the ACE program provides the opportunity for internships and financial support through scholarships and grants that are awarded at the end of each season.
