Terran Wilson, AIA
Terran Wilson is an Associate at LBBA. She received a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and completed her thesis work at the Rural Studio. Since joining the firm in 2011, Terran has worked on a variety of projects including affordable rehabs and new construction projects, commercial build-outs, and college dormitories. Recently, she has contributed to Terrace 459 at Parkside of Old Town, located in the former Cabrini Green neighborhood; the Highlander, a Purpose-Built Community in Omaha, NE; and leads the firm’s ongoing involvement with Rural Studio’s 20K House Project, a program to design and build a model home that can be reproduced on a large scale by builders across the country.
Terran leads the firm’s participation in the AIA 2030 Commitment and presented LBBA’s ongoing research at Greening the Heartland 2013. She was a participant in the AIA Chicago’s Bridge 6.0 leadership program. She has been a juror at the Illinois Institute of Technology, School of the Art Institute, and CPS High School Studio at SAIC. Terran was a guest instructor at After School Matters, mentor for the IIT Boeing Scholars program, and featured artist at Chicago Women in Architecture’s a.DOT exhibit.
Pursuant to her belief that it is an architect’s civic and social responsibility to pursue good design for all, Terran joined the AIA’s Center for Civic Leadership in 2016 and participates annually in AIA Chicago’s Prairie Grassroots. She is also a current member of the University of Chicago Place Lab’s Ethical Redevelopment Salon Series. She volunteers with the Chicago Architecture Foundation, The Night Ministry, Cru, Rebuilding Together, and Breakthrough Urban Ministries, and serves on the Associate Board of archi-treasures.
