LBBA Office, Chicago, IL

Located on the Near West side of Chicago in the Kinzie Industrial Corridor, LBBA office workspace is nestled in among new and upcoming microbreweries and longtime family-owned manufacturing businesses.

The anonymous building, formerly a wholesale florist, conceals a deliberately minimal architecture office build-out, designed to foster creativity and interaction. The space was developed through an internal team process that sought to balance private work areas with comfortable meeting spaces and group work areas. Great light, plenty of storage, room for casual seating, and a variety of walls for pin-up and display all encourage focused work. The main conference room becomes a focal point of activity in the office and is large enough to allow for the hosting of outside events.  The simplicity of the space promotes a sense of design possibilities–a type of living lab–where new ideas can be mocked up and tested.
