McDonnell Cottage, Michigan City, IN

Located in the beach community of Michigan City, Indiana, this year-round cottage was a complete interior and exterior makeover. The living level was opened up creating a casual loft-like plan, and a new third-floor “pop-up” was added providing views to Lake Michigan. Corrugated metal and painted cement-fiber siding help to animate the exterior. Natural light and birch plywood built-ins and panels combine to create a warm contemporary interior.
