Spacca Napoli Restaurant, Chicago, IL

A client with a passion for cooking came to us with the idea of putting together an authentic southern Italian pizza restaurant on the Ravenswood corridor on Sunnyside Avenue. He went to Italy to study cooking and LBBA went to work on our side of the collaboration to turn the existing commercial building into a warm and inviting restaurant.  A wood burning pizza oven was designed and built by three generations of custom oven builders from Italy and located prominently in the open, exposed kitchen. Mosaic glass wall tiles, slate Italian floor tiles, and a new storefront system helped put a modern twist on authentic Italian dining. The restaurant has been such a success, in 2010 LBBA designed the expansion into the neighboring building to provide additional seating and private dining spaces.
