The redevelopment is part of the Chicago Housing Authority’s “Plan for Transformation” that utilizes multiple funding sources derived from HOPE VI, Chicago Housing Authority, tax credit equity, tax-exempt bonds, and city, state and private funding. Public housing units, affordable housing units, and units unrestricted by income are distributed across the site to create resident interaction across all income levels to improve quality of life and environment by creating long lasting, well-built housing with better services and amenities.

Landon Bone Baker Architects was the lead architect on three phases of development that included the design and construction of new infrastructure and the design and/or overseeing construction of 219 rental and 257 for-sale units. The phases include a combination of modern and traditional architecture that complement the surrounding neighborhood and provide spectacular views of the city while focusing on affordability, community, accessibility and energy sustainability. Units are designed to maximize space, more than 30% of the units meet accessible/adaptable requirements, the development was the first project of its type to participate in the Chicago Green Permit Program and exceed those requirements, and on-site maintenance and community rooms provide supportive services such as training, counseling and education courses.

Landon Bone Baker has also parntered with archi-treasures, a local organization that works with communities to provide public art and common spaces within the community.
